Thea’s Bio

Thea Garcia-Ramirez is a proud Corozaleña, a mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister, and a friend. But she is also so much more. She is an advocate, an ally, and an activist who has spent her life fighting for human rights, equality, and progress. Her impressive career speaks for itself. She made history as the first woman to be appointed General Manager of the Belize Airports Authority. She is the Chair of the great Northern Caucus of our People’s United Party, Chair of the National Women’s Commission, a Commissioner on the People’s Constitution Commission, a member of the Board of Directors of the Social Investment Fund, and the Chair of the Corozal Think Tank.

Thea’s service to her community began long before these roles. Since the age of 13, she has been involved in youth leadership, serving as Vice President of the Corozal District Youth Commission and later as a National Executive Member of the Belize Youth Movement. She joined the PUP Corozal Bay Executive in 2012, served as its Chairperson from 2014 to 2018, and made history as the only woman ever elected as Chair of the powerful PUP Northern Caucus, a role she held from 2015 to 2018 and proudly holds again today.

For Thea, Corozal Bay is home. It is a community bound by shared values, history, and a deep sense of belonging. Her vision is clear: to build a Corozal Bay where no one is left behind, where opportunity is accessible to all, and where people-centered leadership drives real change.
